Who we are and what we do

Our Story

In my twenties I spent a lot of time in the mountains. Exploring and climbing the cliffs was something I could not resist. On an early trip to Yosemite valley and half way up my first “big wall” I realized I wanted to create a really tough protective case for photography lenses – something that could survive literally being dragged up the side of a mountain wall. Back on the ground and in the safety of my engineering cubicle, I set forth on designing a rigid, waterproof, cylindrical case, specifically designed for photography lenses. This case would be a tough as any “Pelican” case I had used, but compact enough to stuff inside my climbing pack – the BETA Shell™ case was born.

Almost 15 years later I still find myself pondering how to carry and protect gear into some the worlds harshest conditions.

At BETA Shell™ we take great pride in every protective case we make.
